During the hot weather this week there are many things to consider while using your Air Conditioner:
- Do not set your thermostat below 70 degrees when the temperature outside is over 100 degrees. Be aware that your system may not be able to maintain that temperature in extreme heat.
- If your unit ices up turn it off at the thermostat, and contact us. Service Techs can not diagnose problems with a unit while it’s iced up. DO NOT ATTEMPT …TO REMOVE THE ICE. NEVER TRY AND CHIP THE ICE OFF!! You can put a hole in the coil while trying to remove the ice.
- Set your thermostat and leave it. Don’t keep moving the set point up and down. Leave it at a constant temp during extreme heat.
- Set the cooling to come on early. Don’t let your house get up to 78 or 80 degrees and turn the thermostat temperature down when you get home from work and expect it to cool the house down quickly. The hotter you allow the house to get and the hotter it is outside the longer it’s going to take to cool the house down.
